La Madre is Italian for ‘The Mother’. This refers to our mother culture, which we use to kick-start all of our sourdough breads. We absolutely love what we do and are passionate about sourcing the finest ingredients for our products. With an emphasis on supporting family owned mills and regional producers, our flour comes from Wholegrain Milling, our dairy products from Lard Ass, biodynamic vine fruits from Tabletop Grapes and olives from Mt Zero.

Born in 2003 from passion and a love of good bread, La Madre is a wholesale artisan bakery based here in Geelong, Victoria.

The La Madre Family is a team of skilled and passionate individuals. Collectively our team work tirelessly to produce products of a high standard, packed with care and delivered seven days a week throughout Victoria.

We bake to order so there is minimal food waste but any delicious loaves we do have are donated to those in need. We’re proud to partner with Geelong Food Relief to help minimise food waste from the bakery and provide food aid relief to disadvantaged members of the local community.

La Madre operates under strict HACCP and GMP principles, certified by Merieux NutriSciences. This extra level of assurance demonstrates our commitment to food safety and provides confidence to our customers.
